Patchwork of the Crosses Last for August

This week saw the last of group meetings for August.

These are Annette's stunning modern version of Lucy Boston's Patchwork of the Crosses.

These are two I have made this week.

I decided that I needed to use this centre fabric again as it is quite dominant
in the quilt. I think I need to use it three times to make sure the quilt is balanced.

This was a layout that I wasn't sure I liked but I decided to do as Lucy Boston had
and now I think it is ok. I will need to do three of these too I think.

  1. I agree the modern version of POTC looks amazing. Very fresh and colourful. Yours are so well fussy cut too. Takes careful thinking. Looking forward to our next POTC gathering. How do you manage to find time to do two POTC patches in a week? They take a bit of time. I've just realised I am blogging I've never been sure what it is. Must be careful after today's demise for a political blog!

  2. I really love your first block Robyn, beautiful choice of fabrics in colour, pattern and design.
Your measuring and cutting skills are amazing - especially to a newbie like me!
I love Cyndy's comment where she just realises she's blogging - ha ha!

Hope you're enjoying your weekend - a great day to be inside sewing - with no guilts about not being out in the garden - it's way too cold!
