Taupe Quilt Top Finished

My taupe applique blocks now have their machine pieced partners.

They are all joined together into a quilt top, complete with borders.

Sorry this photo is not great - it was on the floor ready for pin basting and
I just can't far enough from it to get a really good photo.

I have machine quilted in the ditch of the blocks and around the two borders.
Now it is time for some hand quilting.

We will start cutting this at work next week as it is our newest Block of the Month.

Japanese Country Dolls, Boro and Old Indigo

This week I took some of collection of Japanese bits and pieces into work
for our new window display entitled "Japanese Country Folk and Boro"

It is already attracting a lot of interest which is cool.

The tiny dolls are sitting on the rungs of an old wooden ladder.

This is a Boro Triptych that I made a year or so ago. It uses all old recycled indigo
fabrics that I also collected in Japan.

My Japanese Boro Journal was made in class at work, also a year or two ago.

These pin cushions were also collected in Japan - all old indigo fabric with
a subtle amount of sashiko stitching. They are sitting on an old rag rug
purchased at a flea market in Nagoya.

Linen Bunnies

I have had so much fun leading up to Easter.
We got a stunning new pattern in and I got addicted to making Bunnies.

Between Cindy and I we had seventeen Bunnies on display in our Easter Window.

We have made up kitsets of some and tonight I am just finishing off another one.

Talk about a new addiction!

Back to some quilts tomorrow.

Settlers Sampler

This is another reveal from our Wine and Cheese Evening.
We have had such good feedback on the evening that will do another one soon.

We just have to make more projects to release !!!!!!!

This is what you have seen so far.

Cindy and I have worked on this one.
We each designed and made 50 blocks and then we put them
together into this quilt.

We chose a selection of fabrics and then started making.
We didn't consult much at all so it was a bit nerve racking when we
laid out all 100 blocks.

But they worked. Next it was on to choosing the sashing and cornerstones
and we were ready to put it all together.

And we love it.

It is based on an antique 1800s quilt and we have used all Reproduction fabrics.

You can join us and make this too. The blocks are 5"
It will be a Block of the Month soon, so watch our shop website

Now back to my poor old Mrs Holder Quilt - it really hasn't made much progress lately.
