Modern Dear Stella Quilt

Over the last week or so I have been working away on my machine making a modern quilt. Most of the fabrics came from a new Dear Stella range.

I used Karen Davis' "Dawn Chorus" pattern. On her original quilt she has
applique birds added to her solid panel, but I have fussy cut some flowers out
from the feature fabric and used.them instead. They are just fused on and the quilting
holds them in place.

I do loved the quilting that Karen used on hers so I have done my in a similar
fashion - just not quite as close together as hers was. In case you can't quite see the
quilting it is wavy lines going across the quilt - but never touching.

That was just an impromptu deviation from by 1930s quilt - now I had better get back
to it and piece the alternating blocks!!
