Number 5 in the Taupe Challenge Series

This is the next one in our Challenge series - this month's topic was houses.

This one is quite hard to see in the photograph - sorry.
It was a piece of fabric that had the house scene printed on it.
It has been a favourite piece for many years. I picked it up in Japan and I haven't been
able to find any more of it despite endless looking.

The fabric house is not longer making it - isn't it annoying when you find something
exciting and then can't get more of it.

So it was nice to use a piece of it in this challenge. I have embroidered the
outline that was printed which adds colour to the tone-on-tone fabric.

Number 4 in the Taupe Challenge Series

This is the fourth in the Taupe Challenge series.
The topic for this month was Movement.

I put aside a range of 'taupe' fabrics before starting this Challenge in the hope that
the blocks would all sit together well at the end. I used just a few creams
and light taupes and lots of blues and pinks in the range.

I have faced these little quilts instead if using a binding on such a small project,
but I think that my preference now is binding. I think binding makes a
crisper, smarter finish.
